Energy Spring NS TPEO Series
Trunk Piston Engine Oil
SAE 30/40 BN 30/40
The NS TPEO Series are high-alkalinity trunk piston engine oils for medium-speed four-stroke diesel engines burning residual fuels. Their high-detergency additive systems neutralise the strong acids formed from high sulphur fuel while handling asphaltenes and sludge from poor quality bunkers. Highly refined base oils give strong thermal and oxidation stability with excellent BN retention, controlling viscosity increase and keeping crankcases, cam boxes and ring belts clean over long service periods.
Recommended for the crankcase lubrication of highly rated medium-speed four-stroke trunk piston diesel engines in marine propulsion, auxiliary and stationary power service, running on intermediate and heavy residual fuels. Also suitable for reduction gears, bearings and stern tubes. Select NS TPEO 330 or NS TPEO 430 for fuels up to about 3.0% sulphur in SAE 30 or SAE 40, and NS TPEO 440 where higher sulphur, low oil consumption or low liner temperatures call for a greater alkaline reserve.

Acid Neutralization
A high alkaline reserve neutralises strong acids from high sulphur fuels, protecting liners, rings and bearings from corrosion.
BN Retention
Alkalinity is retained over long periods, sustaining protection between oil changes and top-ups.
Deposit Control
High-temperature detergency limits deposits on ring belts, piston under-crowns and cam boxes.
Fuel Compatibility
Strong dispersancy handles asphaltenes and sludge from poor quality residual fuels.
Water Separation
Rapid demulsibility lets the purifier remove water and insolubles, protecting the charge.
Load Carrying Capacity
Extreme-pressure performance extends use to reduction gears, bearings and stern tubes.
