Energy Spring NS ECOGUARD GREASE EP2

Biodegradable EP Grease
NLGI 2 EU Ecolabel certified
Product Overview +

NS EcoGuard Grease EP2 is a readily biodegradable extreme-pressure NLGI 2 grease built on a lithium / calcium soap and a fully saturated synthetic ester base oil. It is intended for total-loss and exposed lubrication points where grease may escape to water or soil, delivering the load-carrying capacity, water resistance and corrosion protection expected of a conventional EP grease without the environmental burden. NS EcoGuard Grease EP2 is certified under the EU Ecolabel, licence no. NL/027/034.

Applications +
Recommended for total-loss and exposed lubrication points in environmentally sensitive service: rudder stocks, propeller hubs and caps, wire ropes, winches, deck machinery and general greasing points on board, and for plain and rolling bearings, open gears, lock gates, pins and bushes in shore-based plant. Suitable for manual application, grease guns and centralised systems. Avoid mixing with barium or clay thickened products. Not a substitute where a molybdenum or graphite grease is specified.
Specifications +
DIN 51502 KPE 2 K-30
ISO 6743-9 L-XCEB 2
Properties & Benefits +
Environmental Compliance
EU Ecolabel certification requires predominantly biodegradable constituents, no bioaccumulative substances, limited aquatic toxicity and a high renewable carbon content.
Load Carrying Capacity
EP additives maintain film strength on heavily loaded bearings, pins and open gears, reducing wear and friction under shock loading.
Water and Corrosion Resistance
Resists washout by rain and seawater and protects steel and copper alloys against corrosion in wet, salt-laden service.
Wide Temperature Range
The ester base oil gives good low-temperature pumpability in centralised systems and a stable film at elevated bearing temperatures.
